CONSTANT READER STAFF REVIEW: CAELLI
My one-word summary of this book would be ‘gripping’. It’s fast-paced and guaranteed to get your heartbeat racing a little as you get swept up in the chase.
The premise is a novel way to entangle multiple strangers in the same deadly intrigue – Miles is trying to track down the children that he’s never known, only to discover that they’re disappearing one by one before he can get to them.
It’s an interesting sidelight on the meaning and the role of family, but honestly this book is all about the action. The first chapter throws you straight into the middle of the first such disappearance and simply doesn’t let up, with red herrings and side plots keeping you guessing right through to the final reveal.
This is an author I will definitely be following in future. If you’re after a compelling read to devour in one sitting, then this is for you - just don’t read it after dark.
